About me
Growing up in Toledo, Ohio, I always imagined I’d stay close to home, near my family. However, life had a different plan. Originally from Summerville, South Carolina, I moved to Ohio at a young age, and when it came time to choose a college, the University of South Carolina became a natural option. I’d always been drawn to the idea of attending, but it wasn’t until after my first year of college that I had the chance to visit in person. Once I finally toured the campus that summer, I instantly knew it was where I belonged, and that led me to transfer.
My time at USC has been transformative, both academically and personally. Through my coursework in communication, I’ve gained valuable skills that have shaped my career aspirations. I’ve also had the opportunity to intern at two different Fortune 500 Companies, in various communication roles, where I’ve gained hands-on experience in corporate communication, event and media production, public relations, human resources, and content creation. These experiences have solidified my passion for the field, and upon graduation, I’m eager to apply what I’ve learned.
Coming to school in South Carolina has also taught me a lot about independence and adaptability. Being far from home has made me more resourceful and confident, knowing that I can thrive in any environment. My time away from Ohio has been a reminder of how important it is to stay connected to my roots while embracing new challenges and opportunities.
Sports have always been a central part of my life—whether I’m playing, watching, or discussing them, they’ve shaped who I am today. Golf, which I picked up in high school, is the sport I play most often, but football is the one I watch with the most passion. My experiences in sports have instilled in me a strong sense of teamwork, perseverance, and the value of finishing what I start. These lessons have carried over into my academic and professional life, teaching me how to collaborate effectively, push through challenges, and stay committed to my goals.
Reflecting on my time at the University of South Carolina and the experiences that have shaped my journey, I am filled with gratitude and excitement. Everything that has happened to me has happened for a reason, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.
